Maybe I'm missing something on the above comment -- aren't there any 
National Parks? (like Big Bend) State Parks?  National Forests? or Military 
Bases in Texas?

Not to be a wise guy but I read somewhere that 40% or more of all land in 
the US is owned by the various Fed or State & lcal gov'ts.   IMHO almost 
*All* land should belong to the people with the exception of Wonders like G 
Canyon,.Yosimite, Yellowstone, etc.

And couldn;t agree more that people should do what they wish on their own 
property.  Just think if  the oil reserves in Alaska belonged to Billy Bob & 
Sally Sue - and they chose to lease it to the oil companies?  Instead of the 
govt mandating new CAFE standards in an attempt to force hybrids on people 
who don't want them, we might produce more of our own oil and stop depending 
on the arabs and muslims for theirs.  But Ken, you know all that - which is 
what makes me think I misread your comments --

Just like the Church, the various goverments own way too much land.
