Statistic such as you seek abound on the net. I fear that trying to  
convince a True Believer with Logic and Reason is a futile quest  
however. Acolytes such as your attorney are religious converts. You  
might as well argue with Bin Laden that pork is good for you. Your  
lawyer will go to his grave convinced that every time you fart another  
polar bear dies.

There is a columnist named Lorne Gunter in the Canadian National Post  
who has done a whole series of reasoned pieces on this subject. Most
