I've finally realized how I really feel about all this
climate change stuff and why my opinions have been
formed as they have.  I am a physicist working as a
geophysicist.  Before that I was a geologist and
before that an electrical engineer.  The important bit
for this discussion is the geologist part.

My opinions are formed because of two important
points/beliefs:  

(1) The earth can heal anything man can do - assuming
man has any measurable impact at all.  That's just
geology.

(2) Most everything stated in the press is about how
the climate changes affect man - and I don't give a
wet flip about man.  We're just transients here on
earth and will soon be gone.  And the earth will go
on.

Perhaps we should go play with our Italian toys while
we still can.
