Gents, there were many one off Italian custom bodies on American running gear.

This one, a Pininfarina penned Caddie for Jackie O., makes me tingle:

Yeah, too much American muscle at BJ this year, but did you see
the Pininfarina Rondine concept car that sold Saturday night? Holy smokes,
what a beautiful car! Based on a '63 Corvette chassis and commissioned by
GM for the Paris Auto Show. Fantastic, classic early-'60s styling in a
very tasteful seafoam blue/green.
Nobody can lay down graceful lines like the Italians: Pininfarina,
Turin, Ghia, etc. Too bad modern rollover regulations don't allow the
thin, graceful roof pillars of yesteryear.
Sold for $1.6 million. If I had some mega-big dough, I'd be
asking Pininfarina to duplicate the car on a modern Corvette or 612
chassis. Yum!
A quick Google search of "pininfarina rondine" will find multiple
pictures of the car. Pronounced ron-di-nay, means "swallow" in Italian.
