Offsides comment because I haven't done it but, the
answer I have read seems to be the old square
not-really-O-rings.  My guess is that if one, in the
act of rebuilding brakes, is going to the trouble to
split a caliper, they should source new rings, replace
the rotors and hoses and install new pads.  Seems
false economy to re-use or halfass it.
