Offsides comment because I haven't done it but, the answer I have read seems to be the old square not-really-O-rings. My guess is that if one, in the act of rebuilding brakes, is going to the trouble to split a caliper, they should source new rings, replace the rotors and hoses and install new pads. Seems false economy to re-use or halfass it. rick - arm-chair-mechanic --- Bill Shaw <b.shaw [at] comcast.net> wrote: > And what are you guys using to re-seal the 2 halves? > > Bill > > ------------------------------ > > Rick Lindsay wrote: > > > > My guess is that the "don't split the caliper" > stuff > > is because of two things; (1) the ham-fisted > amateur > > brake-pad swapper could cause a nasty accident, > and > > (2) legal boiler-plate. > > > > rick > > > _________________________________________________________________ > To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, > please visit: > http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/rolindsay%40yahoo.com > > Sponsored by BidNip.com eBay Auction Sniper > http://www.BidNip.com/ > and F1 Headlines > http://www.F1Headlines.com/ >
