My point, Jeff, was not that re-using a product is bad but rather, that the amateur rebuilder who is seeing the inside of a caliper for the first time, may miss the proper steps that you obviously follow, and wash the rings down with paint thinner and toss them back on the workbench until reassembly time. Many things we do on our cars may cause "inconveniences" caused by our ignorance.
