No definitive answers on this one and you are likely to get many  
conflicting opinion.

My .02 are that unless you are going to drive the car and get  
everything up to temperature, you are better off not disturbing the  
cars hibernation.

Starting it and letting it idle really doesn't get it hot enough,  
tends to wash the cylinder walls with fuel, and dilutes the oil with  
fuel and condensation.

This will also tend to load the plugs up too.

Generally, in terms of warm up, start the car and drive it gently  
until the oil starts to show some temps. Unless its very cold and the  
car has been sitting outside then I'll let it idle for just a few  
minutes.
