Larry:
A "large" picture taken with my (pedestrian) Canon Digital Camera is formatted at
width - 15.644 in height - 11.733 in resolution - 180 DPI
This file is only 1.1 mb. If the pictures you are submitting are for print they are going to want them at somewhere like 300 DPI. The same image would appear perfectly clear and sharp on computer monitor at 72 DPI. There are many graphics programs out there for resizing and reformatting. The first step is to take as large a raw image as your camera permits.

Howdy -
My editor has asked for large format photos for an article - says he needs
2-4MB images but I'm having trouble getting them resized properly.
The images submitted are 150KB to 450KB. How does this relate to MBs? I
thought KBs are Kilo Bytes and MBs are MegaBytes of 1000KBs=1MB. Is that
right? SO if I end up with an image of 2000KBs that's in his requested
range?
I know I need to ask the editor for explanation but his unavailable for a
few more hours and I'd like to work on it this morning -
Comments?
