Maybe there's some justice afterall. For some reason it irks me when
someone gets $100Mil + for playing a game. I know it's entertainment and
creating jobs all along the food chain, but still, it's playing a game! I feel
the same about actors and singing artist - they both give pleasure but their
ROI seems out of touch.

At least MS was risking his life for his big bucks - he may not have been
paid enough. And all the drivers during the 50s, 60s and 70s who risked (and
lost) their lives while the engineers tried to understand how aerodynamics
affected the cars while keeping them light to stay competitive were never paid
enough.

I rear once where Mickey Mantle never made more than 100K/year - while
thats the starting salary now. Times change - but I keep rambling. ;-)

Reminds me of one of the all-time jerks in the NBA, Latrine Sprewell. When he
renegotiated his contract, he turned down a multi tens-of-million dollar offer,
saying that he was insulted and "had to feed his family!"

In the news the other day, I read that the Federal Bankruptcy Court had just
repo'd his house, cars, and 70' yacht for back taxes. I don't know about his
'Bling.' There is a God in Heaven.

He was also in a James Bond flick - "The Man With the Gold Gun" - played the
assistant (Nick Nack) of the assassin who use the golden gun - who was after
JB. He used to invite other "world-class" assassins to his island retreat for a
duel to the death. If the invited bad gun won Herve's character would be given
all of the Golden Gun Guys stuff - Island get away, great little house, etc.
But naturally the Goldden guy always won - until (tada!) Bond, James Bond, came
to the island looking for the Golden Gun guy.

Anyway - Herve' played a pretty good sized part in this movie as well as the
"Fantasy Island" gig. Hmmm,... $25k/week sounds pretty good to me. I guess
those guys ony work only 13 weeks a year (??) which works out to $325k/year.
Yeah, that could me in Big Macs and french fries - might even put a red Italian
car in the garage.

Trick is to stay away from 6' women and use the right head for thinking. Not
always an easy things to do.

More info about him is found at

  a "short" often sad, life.
