If you are replacing the compressor, why not move to a modern rotary compressor?

I beleive that sanden is the common replacement. Supposedly there is an off the shelf adapter bracket that allows the compressor to bolt right up.

Sorry I can' be more specific, this is what I have been told and have not done it personally (yet)

As for the receiver/drier, take it to a local parts store and match it up. They should have one or more catalogs with detailed dimensions.

While you're at it, don't forget the expansion valve ....

Hello Friends,

I am looking for the correct, generic replacement part
for my '79 308GTB's A/C receiver-drier. I have found
a source for NEW York compressors (US$315) so I can
rebuild my A/C without conversion to a modern
compressor. Yea, I can already sense the testarone in
the air. "Take the damn thing off like a real man.
It's just dead weight." But I live in Houston, Texas
where we have two seasons; Summer and Almost Summer.
And the 308 has a greenhouse for a cockpit. If the
A/C doesn't work, I don't drive the car.

So back to the theme-topic. Any of you done A/C work
recently who could direct me toward a parts supplier?
Thanks.
