First I don't have a hybrid, I HAVE an 89 GEO METRO that when new go 50mpg 
highway and now a 130,000 miles later  gets 42mpg highway and 37 city. It 
has room for 4 plus luggage.

The sad part is that the media is making a big deal out of hybrids and the 
'SMART CAR' that has half the capacity and not as good a milage.

They should be pointing out milage has gone down instead of up since 89.

I also have a 2004 Avelanche that gets 15mph hwy down from 18 mpg hwy that 
my 2002 Avelanche got (with the same engine).

The 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo gets 20mpg hwy

and the 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi gets 18mpg hwy.

Combined gallons per year is 1000 including mowing my 5 acres.
