Red start-lights coming on, every F1 car at redline waiting for the launch control to manage the start, ground shaking, the sub-audable sounds vibrating my chest, headphones just barely keeping the scream below the pain threshold. Then out go the lights and all hell breaks loose, movement in every direction, launch control modulating everything it legally can and excess fuel exploding in the exhaust. My car away clean, no flags needed and back-markers approaching at already over 100 mph. The sound, the movement, the smells, the pressure on every human sense beyond its dynamic limit, another grid marshal's job done well. God I love Formula 1. Here they come, rolling around turn 9 (then, the bottom half of a 1/2 mile asphalt oval track) and then the flag guy waves green? OH YEAH - nuthing like it again. The Over 2 litre and Under 2's with Pedro Rodriguez in the Ferrari and a pile of Porsche Carrera 6's. Ahhhh, Willi - thems was the times, eh?
