........And then there are the aftermarket warranty companies for those of us who wish to wear shorts to the dealership.
It would seem that 50% of the time when attempting a claim with the majority of these companies (the ones backed by national insurance groups are better) that it boils down to the wisdom of the service writer/mechanic making the phone call. If he is not familiar with the wording of the warranty contract you are potentially up for denial. I give the example of a wheel bearing..... When the claim is called in, if the tech should say the bearing is loose, has play and is worn, forget it! It's over! That would fall under "wear and tear" and they use that clause to the fullest. When calling in the claim, the bearing must be replaced! The outer race is broken. Cracked right through! This falls under "broken hard part". The CC number for payment minus deductible is issued right there. I realize that this sounds somewhat shady but let's face it, they are doing everything they can, shady or not, not to pay a claim. It's a business.....cash flow.....just my 2 cents. It helps to know your mechanic on a friendly basis too.

Back in the Pleistocene I saved my money and bought a new Cutlass. Two
weeks later the "Body by Fisher" tag fell off the door sill.

Shortly after that I switched to imports, along with much of America.
