Paul sez "Chernobyl killed 63 people, the predicted cancers from fallout never happened."

What I heard is while Chernobyl #2 was burning - the other two reactors were and (still are?) on line. There were three reactors in a complex.

Creepy web site of a two girl motorcycle ride into the city. Many pictures.

France uses the technique of refining their waste for reuse, getting 98%
of the energy out of the fuel rods, virtually elliminating waste. Our design
skims the top 20% after which we store the rods as waste. US total waste
now amounts to the size of a football field 6 feet high and is about one
coke can per person of waste for the total lifetime of all nuke reactors.
Chernoble killed 63 people, the predicted cancers from fallout never happened.
You get more radiation from a banana than from living next to a reactor.
But not in my backyard. Read Power to Save the World: The Truth About
Nuclear Energy by Gwynth Cravens
