Actually, I'm with you, heretic! It's just never been a car that said "Ferrari" to me. Sort of like Ferrari's answer to the Corvette, which, frankly, flatters neither party. And since Miami Vice has been mentioned, I have been watching Season 4 lately. Still one of the greatest shows ever for this 80's child, but it is a much darker show than I remember it being. I'm guessing that's why it was so cool - no happy ending every week after 50 minutes of mayhem. Of course, in my opinion they took that darkness way too far in the recent remake movie. I find myself having no interest in that at all on Dish reruns - if I want hot girls and cars I'd rather see Bad Boys or Bad Boys II, continuity problems not withstanding. But, in retrospect as an owner, I now find it distractingly unrealistic that no one ever says anything about the cars on the show. I could maybe see in South Beach Miami where such cars are common that no one would care, but Sonny parked that thing everywhere from the Everglades to the slums and no one ever asked him how fast it was, how many MPG it got, what was on the speedo, how much it cost, etc. In fact, the only car comment I've heard through 1/2 of season four is the first time Sonny's kid sees the TR, and that only merits a "Is THAT your new car?" -- charles -----Original Message----- From: Steve Jenkins [mailto:steve [at] stevejenkins.com] Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 11:12 AM To: Charles Perry Cc: The FerrariList Subject: Re: [Ferrari] What should I buy? I'm about to be super blasphemous right now. I don't like the Daytona. THERE! I said it. Wow. That feels good to get off my chest. Seriously, I thought the black replica of one in Miami Vice was cool, but only at night, and only with a lot of help from Phil Collins, Don Johnson, and Michael Mann. I know it's a Ferrari icon. I know it's got history. I know.. I know... I just doesn't look quite old enough, or perform quite new enough, to be a Ferrari I want. I don't hate it, I just don't love it enough to buy one. I know I can't be the only one who feels this way. Anyone else wanna come clean? SJ
