Had to get a new floor jack - read all the reviews and recognize
reliability is a common problem nowdays.

That said, I am super pleased with the Harbor Freight
LIGHTWEIGHT 35# aluminum 3000# Racing Jack at $140 store price.

Catalog shows an upscale version which store didn't have
10# heavier, 4000# lift, $40 more. Probably the best choice.

This crazy jack can be picked up with one hand, has handles
on both sides, one of three features used to call it a 'racing jack'.
The half-turn twist up/down valve and 6 stroke quick pump are
the rest. But recognize the quick 6 stroke requires some real
effort to raise. You can of course use a dozen half strokes or
whatever.

I'd advise avoiding the lighter 25# jack which at $90 may be
temptingly adequate but the limited raise height, 3" less than
mine, is a big time difference, and could be problematic.
Low profile height - 3" vs 3.5" for mine.

I was also surprised the light 35# weight (my old one is 80#) made
a big time difference on how easily it moves around on asphalt.

And it's pretty...wants to be placed on the bench not the floor.
Also got the optional red rubber boot which covers the lift platform.

Reliability problems which arose in my research, all related to
leaky pump and often reported as early as 1 month in. These tools
would seem to no longer be a lifetime purchase but a 2 year tool
with no replacement parts available. (except perhaps the SnapOn
$1200 commercial version)
