Doug is spot-on! While I was working in Tuscon, my supervisor's 18 year-old son was killed, working underneath a car?in the garage when the jack-stand slipped and his chest was crushed. His mother came ot to the garage and found him, feet sticking out from beneath the car. What a shock that must have been. He had a full-ride soccer scholarship waiting for him at the U of Arizona, plus he was an academic All-American. What a waste.? Sad story, Bubba -----Original Message----- From: Doug Subject: Re: [Ferrari] LSMFT Floor Jack - no spoiler A word to all considering hydraulic jacks - NEVER NEVER NEVER use only one item, especially a hydraulic jack as your only source of height management. Gravity wins. Double up - jack stands, leaving the jack in place, or or, or. Two things, always. I still get a queasy feeling in my stomach when I recall going to a shop and there it was - a car off the jack and two legs poking out from under. No blood - but there aint no one with a 4 inch chest rise. DOUG Kalifornia Dept of Consumer Affairs ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert W.
