LOL!  You;re right Grahame, it's pretty unusual.  Actually it's one of many 
companies, towns, states, rivers, schools, etc named after American Indians 
& various aspects of their lives.

Sometimes the pronounciation can be tough  -  for instance, I went to a High 
School named Kecoughtan - at least I think that's how it is spelled. ;-) 
"key-co-tan" was the pronounciaton.
