Not to mention a/c with climate control, abs, traction control, rain sensing 
wipers, automatic headlights,  6 speaker stereo, power windows, lots of sound 
deadening materials and just bigger overall and it all adds up.

Take a look at my "big" 400i parked next to a Camry and be shocked at how small 
the Ferrari 2+2 looks.  Park a Ferrari 599 or a 430 next to the Camry and its 
pretty close.

Modern electronic add ons such as traction control, ABS, NAV systems and the 
copper wire associated with these is where the lbs come from.

Most modern cars are disgusting fat pigs as a result.
