Yes, there are 5-speeds out there - rare, but if people-who-know find one, they 
buy it.  
 
The Autos, I believe, are Turbo Hydromatics or some-such GM Tranny.  The 
manuals are ZF?  There was a Lister, back-in-the-day, from the NY area 
(Benjamin Kao comes to mind???  Worked for Goldman Sachs and had a Biology 
Degree from Harvard?) who had one.  Lashdeep may remember him?  VERY nice car.  
Drove that car to Montreal for the F1 Gathering on Peel Street, there were 
videos of Ben on the web somewhere of his manual 400i spanking 308s in 
stoplight races....Ben carrying three/four people in the car and leaving 
single-passenger QVs in his rearview easily.  That V-12 could move.....
 
Manual 412s are even rarer, but all were Grey-Market.

Not sure about the US, but there are 5 speeds here in Canada.
