I was going to say "Wait until they hit 10 or 12 or 14 THEN come back 
and tell us how well the strong-arm "NO!" works." :-)  It wouldn't work 
any better with the spoiled brat unions either.  The situation is much 
too complex for simplistic solutions.

Enjoy your mastery of the situation while you can,  it won't last long.
