engines 
Its an FAR part 25
Its not the simple 
Not only that weight and balance is effected

Most of the time isn't that the difference between a memorial service and a
closed casket burial?

Less morbidly what a fantastic miracle by everyone involved, from the
captain to the crew and passengers to all of the first responders.

Why can't strong metal screens, in a nose cone or bullet shape (perfected by
Madonna),   say with a 3 or 4 inch grid, be used to keep the larger birds
out of the compressor intakes?  Would it Eff up the intake air too much?
