Unless I completely misunderstand, isn't the point of the linked Snopes article 
that the story about stepped up enforcement in NJ (as well as other 
jurisdictions where similar stories have popped up) is bogus?

 

 

In any event, I will be driving my minivan (alas) from Philadelphia to Nawlins 
(and back) the second week of May, intending to stay on major highways (e.g., 
81) except for a couple of short detours for interesting food.  I'll try to be 
vigilent, will have my V1, and won't go over 90, but does anyone know of any 
jurisdictions, other than VA and DC, where radar detectors are illegal?  

 

 

Also, can anyone direct me to any useful sites that facilitate identification 
of worthwhile eateries along a route?  Most sites, like Zagat, require a search 
by location, and I am currently using Roadfood, but thought there might be 
other sources?
