I was thinking the same thing. SNOPES is an urban legends site. If you read
the website you see the same fake warning has been around for years. that's
the point of the site, it is all BS!

(If you want REAL speed cameras then come on over here! Average speed
cameras over 6 miles, digital speed cameras, regular speed cameras, cameras
that
ticket you for improper parking, conjestion cameras and now they have just
announced lowering the speed limit on normal roads to 50 mph from 60 mph)

You don't know how lucky you have it in the USA....if you think it can't get
any worse then have a quick holiday in the UK and you will find out it can!

Unless I completely misunderstand, isn't the point of the linked Snopes
article that the story about stepped up enforcement in NJ (as well as other
jurisdictions where similar stories have popped up) is bogus?

In any event, I will be driving my minivan (alas) from Philadelphia to
Nawlins (and back) the second week of May, intending to stay on major highways
(e.g., 81) except for a couple of short detours for interesting food. I'll
try
to be vigilent, will have my V1, and won't go over 90, but does anyone know
of any jurisdictions, other than VA and DC, where radar detectors are
illegal?

Also, can anyone direct me to any useful sites that facilitate
identification of worthwhile eateries along a route? Most sites, like Zagat,
require a
search by location, and I am currently using Roadfood, but thought there might
be other sources?

Thanks,

Larry
