Mike,

I'd like to say kids but to my mother's chagrin, no. When you are closer to the
2 century mark on a daily basis, you have to break the addiction. I'm glad I
did. I am now sober... Plus it helps not having a car that is governed not to
do so now and Jim won't do you a "favor"... Just kidding Jim - LOL.

I might be solving my slow car syndrom in a few weeks. I'm looking at several
"F" cars right now as one of the possibilities. I've learned a lot from this
list and my eventual purchase (and everyone's entertainment value!) is why I
joined. I might be asking some questions on the list this weekend.

Rodney
How long can I stay "speed" sober?

That is funny, Jim C telling you to slow down... Having kids really
changes things for you :)

No idea, this guy was down in Texas and it was many years ago (thinking
2004 maybe?). I won't say who it was, as I was instructing at the
event. He had a very nice 996 RTurbo at the time probably one of the
first in the country, and ran the advanced group. The guy just had a
complete disregard for rules in general, enough money to get out of
whatever trouble he got himself into I guess...

I have no problem with someone playing a bit on an open road with no
cars around, I mean its their life, they can risk all they want that is
a freedom of choice they make and they may have to live with the
consequences later (no one ever brags about how fast they were going in
the ER though). Driving like a DB with others around you is just
inexcusable though, no one has the right to put others at risk like
that. Not saying I never speed, at one point I could have wall papered
with the number of tickets I got... But I outgrew it, mostly.

Mike
