No kidding,I saw a 355 Spider on Ebay for a buy it now of 50 grand. Its in Indiana so pretty close too. Mighty tempting but of course my wife would kill me, and I find wanting one is more fun than actually having one, since when I have one I seem to want another anyhow... Not as dangerous as a speed addiction but more expensive :)
Prices seem very low, asking prices also have lowered significantly. I expect they may go lower around the end of summer also but who knows, and why miss a perfectly good summer?

Mike,I'd like to say kids but to my mother's chagrin, no. When you are closer to the 2 century mark on a daily basis, you have to break the addiction. I'm glad I did. I am now sober... Plus it helps not having a car that is governed not to do so now and Jim won't do you a "favor"... Just kidding Jim - LOL.I might be solving my slow car syndrom in a few weeks. I'm looking at several "F" cars right now as one of the possibilities. I've learned a lot from this list and my eventual purchase (and everyone's entertainment value!) is why I joined. I might be asking some questions on the list this weekend. Rodney How long can I stay "speed" sober? Having kids really changes things for you :)No idea, this guy was down in Texas and it was many years ago (thinking 2004 maybe?). I won't say who it was, as I was instructing at the event. He had a very nice 996 RTurbo at the time probably one of the first in the country, and ran the advanced group. The guy just had a complete disregard for rules in general, enough money to get out of whatever trouble he got himself into I guess...I have no problem with someone playing a bit on an open road with no cars around, I mean its their life, they can risk all they want that is a freedom of choice they make and they may have to live with the consequences later (no one ever brags about how fast they were going in the ER though). Driving like a DB with others around you is just inexcusable though, no one has the right to put others at risk like that. Not saying I never speed, at one point I could have wall papered with the number of tickets I got... But I outgrew it, mostly.Mike LtWacko wrote:Mike, are you talking about the same numb nut who took his 911 turbo backwards along the wall into turn 5 years back? If so, wasn't that his second turbo in 3 weeks that he wrecked? Ah, the good old days when the roads were open and an "Escort" radar detector was all you needed. I do admit to exercising north of double the legal limit every now and then (now not doing it as often) but it's not the same anyway. I feel "guilty" nowadays. Highways are crowded at all hours around Chicago these days. The courtesy of slower cars to the right no longer apply and then there's a less trained driver in a more powerful car trying to keep up with you. It's not worth it anymore. Too dangerous and even more socially irresponsible than ever. My co-drivers in One Lap were glad we did it when we did it. We don't know if it would be as fun today.I know someone asked about stories over long distances at high speeds. I have a few but I'm afraid to tell and being admonished for my terrible road manners of the past. You know it's bad when Jim C. threatens to put a speed governor on your car....Rodney Saved most of it for track and now chase fast women In a message dated 03/18/09 00:18:05 Central Daylight Time, ferrari-request [at] ferrarilist.com writes:Back in the day a guy who ran the gumball rally in a RUF RTurbo was showing off his in car footage at a Porsche dealership where I was getting my car tech'ed from West Texas with an indicated 208 mph. He was in a well built and prepped car with a full integral roll cage, but at that speed, something goes wrong, he would have been dead or worse killed someone else. Same guy showed up at a DE once and was kicked out in under 10 minutes for not following any of the rules (safety rules) spun his car multiple times, passing in corners, no clue really. Fastest anyone was ever asked to leave. Money and brains do not always go hand in hand, this guy was clearly a trust fund baby. _________________________________________________________________To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/themightytoe%40gmail.comSponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/
