What I didn't put in the note was that I registered both the Mondial and the 308GTB as antiques here in Harris County. The Mondial is a (re)new purchase so I paid sales tax. Here's the breakdown on the car I already owned, including the sales tax I had to pay again. FWIW, these descriptions are straight from the receipt, not my words. My comments, where included, are after the dash. $ 13.00 Title application fee $ 15.00 Texas Mobility Fund fee - ??? $ 5.00 TERP fee - ??? $ 90.00 Sales tax fee - yep, had to pay sales tax on a car I already own $ 50.00 Antique plate fee $ 0.30 Reflectorization fee - WTF? $ 10.00 County road bridge add-on fee - ??? $ 1.50 Child safety fund - ??? $ 1.00 Automation fee (large county) - ??? $185.80 Total Now my car is mine again. Plate is valid for life but new fees are due in 2013. > I know, before you say it, the three things that you NEVER ask are; :-P I've included my answers, car specific, just for fun. > (1) What's her name, Answer for Mondial: The red car Answer for 308GTB: The silver car > (2) Where did ya get it, Answer for Mondial: Matt Boyd. Do you know him? Answer for 308GTB: Phil Tegtmeier. Do you know him? > (3) What did it cost? Answer for Mondial: About as much as a house Answer for 308GTB: About as much as a house Any other answers are just wasted breath. When my son asked, "Where did I come from?" I answered honestly, "New Orleans." He was content. rick
