Indeed, too expensive and embarrassing to redesign all of their powertrains at 
this point.

Solve the problems with a band aid that is also blessed by media and public 
perception...forced induction.

What's next? Coil springs are better than leaf springs??

Volvo is going to all turbos, Ford's v6 design is going to turbo.
Emissions are the drivers, not inherent design flaws. Not that I know
anything on the subject...
