There is a guy on Fchat that is doing a V12 install in a 308

Funny part of it is, when I ran across the thread and started looking at the 
car, I saw a picture that had the VIN # in it and the car is an 84 308 GTS 
qv  that happened to be the first Ferrari I ever purchased. I spoke to him 
several time cause I had searched for that car for a few years trying to buy 
it back but to no avail. So I ended up talking him out of the steering wheel 
which is now mounted on my wall.

You could go longitudinal and use a G50...would take some fab but wouldn't 
be too difficult.

I think this has been done......

The real problem is not so much as *if it will fit*, but rather
the logistical issues.

For those of us who have seen the 308 series engines and
transfer gears down to the gearbox, you will wonder how
a bell-housing and gear assembly would be constructed to
accomplish this. Not impossible, but very difficult. However,
given the determination of all the rabid gearheads around,
I'm sure that thought has been given to solving these issues.......
