I wonder if one could you put a bi-Turbo motor in a Merak without too much wrenching?

As I recall, that motor was pretty amazing.

I think the SS models had 220 hp, so with a few tweaks I would think 240 or so
could be achieved with no major work. Getting rid of the 70's-80's emissions
systems and euro bumpers would shave more than few pounds as well. The car
itself is a well built solid car, so shaving a few pounds with seats and the
like would likely not make a difference. If you could build the V-6 with 300
hp, then you would be someplace, or just get a Bora...

One of the first exotics I ever saw in person...pretty cool

weren't fast back in the day.

What about now with an MSD box, advanced timing, no cats, lowered
suspension, bigger wheels/tires, etc.?

And with a good weight reduction program (carbon seats, no
bumpers, lighter
wheels, etc.)?

It could be a lot more fun no?

I think with a loyal supporter and some nice pockets it could be a fun
restoration....

I saw a video of a Merak on youtube without front bumpers and it lookedwayyy better!

My only question is, what kind of rims would you use if you upgraded the
tires? Could you keep it stock?
