Sales of ALL cars are way down, but a used Honda/Toyota has higher re-sale 
value than any SUV right now.  I dare you to find anyone in the market for a 
new Hummer compared to the folks interested in a good used Prius.  Do you 
believe the price of gas will remain below $3 once the economy rebounds?  I 
don't.

I suggest you try an experiment..

Go try and trade in a "fuel efficient" vehicle.

See what you get for it.

You'll get less than a year ago, because the market for 
fuel-efficient vehicles has dropped
with the price of fuel.

It's called "the free market" or "cause and effect"
