This is not political rhetoric, it PHYSICS. It's great to think blue sky but until some new physics is found, we're bound by the universe we have. Will there be something new? Almost certainly. Shouldn't take but a few centuries to discover. By then, oil will be gone - or $1000 a liter. So either we use the nuclear source we have today (which IS that 'thinking' you recommend) or we begin the 'long slide' you envision. You and I see eye-to-eye on most things but I can't negate physics in favor of philosophy. rick
