Thanks.

That is exactly the model I was considering changing over to when it all
comes together.

A V12 400i has plenty of room for a service dog. Finding a good one
without deferred maintenance issue is the challenge.

No, its not really one of those "mine is bigger than yours" competitions.

My biggest issue with the 348 is that there isn't enough room for my
service dog to travel with us, which means if we want to take the Ferrari
anywhere I have to trailer it behind the Excursion. Other than that I love
the
car, and realistically, maintenance on it, according to the mfr. specs.
should
(not is, only should) be less expensive. And, of course I am an open top
car individual.

It is just that I'm not really into the Mondial, and most of the Ferraris
that I know of that will accommodate Blackhawk and that I like are 12 cyl.

cars. I don't know if I will ever sell the 348 as it is a lot of fun, just

wish I could take it more places and I might add an Aston Martin to the
crew
rather than let go of the 348.

My big problem is that when the economy is down and these car prices are
more reasonable, investments are down as well so the resources available
for
acquisition suffer as well.

Hey Dr. Steve: Move 'up' to a 12 cyl.? LMFAO! It sounds as if Capt'n
cLyDe
has you brainwashed enough to think that if you bought a 6 cyl. Dino 246,
it would be a 'downward' move from your 8 cyl. 348. Am I right?

6, 8, 12. What's the difference? The last time that I looked, they're ALL

Ferraris. Please correct me if I'm in error.

Up, down or sideways, they're all the same to me. The important thing is
to possess and drive the car that I have lusted for, for over a half
century. When I'm driving it to my limits, I could give a flying f**k how
many
cylinders it has. It is just pure joy for me to be able to test my
abilities
and feel and hear what Enzo gave the world.

I think those who are wrapped up in the number of cylinders their car has
are the same kind of people who wear those wristwatches with the big
faces.
And you know what they say about those people. "The bigger the watch (or
the number of cylinders) the smaller the schong."

Are you listening, cLyDe?

Now being blessed [cursed?] with the ownership of one, a '95 348 Spyder,
which being the latest version of same, I'm curious as to why you have
reached this conclusion, and what to look out for in owning this car
[leaving
it
in the ghetto with the keys in it is not an option so please just omit
same
and give me some practical advice].

Right now that means a timing belt, and any parts that are worn enough
that
they probably won't last until the next 5yr/40k mi. service to save on
the
labor of removing the engine etc. twice. It also means locating a good
independent to do the work in Nashville or Louisville, or a two car round
trip
to Atlanta to FOA for this service to be accomplished. Not being lazy,
just not being physically up to the task myself right now and probably
for the
foreseeable future.

I'd like to keep it around, at least for a while, until I can move on up
(?) to a 12 cyl. one with a back seat and AC for Blackhawk. That is the
only
downside for my ownership right now and it is a Spyder problem, not a 348
issue. We don't travel much without him and I haven't convinced Audrey
that
the front trunk was kind of first class seating for her so she won't let
me
pull the right side out for him to ride in.

Regards,

Dr. Steve
