Our local Automobile Museum has an Italian Car Day once a year called Tutto
Italiano - first time I went about two years ago, one gentleman showed up in
his then-new 288 GTO.  Nice cars, but I wouldn't trust such a high-strung motor
unless it had been THOROUGHLY sorted before hitting any boost in it. Lots of
Unobtainium in that engine.....

Larry,

There are 288s in the US....how many of the allegedly 272 ever made, don't
know. But I know they're super rare because I've yet to see one in my 29 1/2
years of looking at cars! :)

I'd probably drive a good hour or two just to see one....not drive one, not
even ride in one, just to see one!!! So deprived in NYC, all we have are
430s and Gallardos. :)

I hope seeing one for the first time will be special and not a letdown...I'm
gonna guess the $600k price tag will reflect that it won't be a
disappointment. :)
