We have one local here. My mechanic that helps me with stuff I can't do  
works on one pretty often. I tell you special isn't what comes to mind as 
"what  a junky built car" does. Really, the 288GTO looks like the worst 
handbuilt kit  car you have ever seen. Interior is poorly put together, body 
panels 
are wavy,  you can easily see the weave throughout. F40's are WAY better 
built. Love the  design and the looks but honestly you would think they are 
cheap kit cars the  way the look from an objective view.

There are 288s in the US....how many of the allegedly 272  ever made, don't
know. But I know they're super rare because I've yet to  see one in my 29 
1/2
years of looking at cars! :)

I'd probably drive  a good hour or two just to see one....not drive one, not
even ride in one,  just to see one!!! So deprived in NYC, all we have are
430s and Gallardos.  :)

I hope seeing one for the first time will be special and not a  
letdown...I'm
gonna guess the $600k price tag will reflect that it won't be  a
disappointment. :)
