It's about time.  F1 has been on a disaster path for years, with race  
organizers squeezed until they can't make any money even with record crowds,  
selling out to third world nations with no racing heritage but willing to  pay 
Bernie's price for the national exposure and ridiculous attempts to turn  
Formula 1 into a spec racer series.
 
This could be a high stake version of a "strike" in order to use the  
leverage of the threat to negotiate what they want or it could be a true plan 
to  
say Eff You to Bernie and Max.  If the latter, I  hope they are able  to 
line up some good racing venues, such as  U.S. and Canadian races,  
Silverstone, Spa, all the historic great tracks that Bernie wants to kick to 
the  curb.
 
Unfortunately, this will make the rest of this season pretty much  
irrelevant, but for the true Formula 1 racing fan, the short term price may 
well  
pay off in the long term.
