No idea about the amps being used - but the newer cars like yours with EFI 
and all kinds of electronic gizmos means iit uses lots of power - and if it 
gets dark and lights are needed or if it rains and the wipers are needed 
means your engine will start to run rough and then stop.

I once drove my MGB about 1 hour when the generator failed - I used parking 
lights when it started getting dark but I made it.  If you have a multimeter 
you can charge the battery, check it, then drive it for 20 min or so and 
check to see how much juice is left.  Then extrapolate to see if you'll make 
it home.
