What are we ranking these car movies on?

Their merit as a movie itself or just the car action?

If it's the latter then I really can't get into ranking lots of these
movies....

But as far as the former, Bullitt and Ronin were great movies. Sure they
just happen to have 2 of the best chase sequences of all time, but they're
not fast forwards to get to those scenes either.

I recently saw Bullitt in it's entirety for the first time on the big screen
at Lincoln Center as part of a film society event honoring Steve McQueen
films. Been to many of these before and it's not a car person crowd by any
chance...

Everyone loved it....they applauded at the end of chase sequence, and at the
end of the film.

It really was great. I'm curious what other of these car movies were great
movies?
