When I look at resumes for positions we have, here are the items that pop to
the top:

1) Succinct purpose statement at the top
2) Entire resume limited to 2 pages
3) No more than 7-8 sentences per job unless something is REALLY crucial
4) Last 10 years of experience with dates, after that just list
company/title/responsibility
5) Interesting, but standard layout/type fonts, etc - funky fonts are for
the video game industry....
6) Short cover letter showing you have a grasp of the english language
7) Entire thing can be read and comprehended in 5min max

my .02, good luck Tom, we are all rooting for you!

I have a couple versions of my resume, and I do need to update it to include
my latest job at the Tulsa World. But, the help I need now from you is to
find someone or a few people who have (or have recently had) day to day
experience looking at and/or evaluating resumes.
What should I include? How much detail should I provide? Do I need to give
dates (which age me) or do I just need to provide the jobs I've had in order
without dating them (and me.)?
Anyone want to play guinea pig/mentor/helpful lister?
:)

Thanks very much again.
Kind regards,
Tom Reynolds
