Agreed.

Purist seemingly can have two definitions...

One who really believes in a certain way, passionate about an old school
mentality (such as manual steering, non ABS, etc).

Then there's the other that goes overboard preserving nonsense like shitty
tires, (and in the muscle car camp, over spray to resemble things like they
were in the '60s).

On some level I can appreciate the latter as much as I disagree with it. If
I drove a 100% original Dino 246 or 308 for the first time I probably could
appreciate the "era" of '60s cars a little more. Maybe it would be cool to
see what a factory new Vette was like in 1969, down to a tee even if I'm not
great at detecting paint deficiencies as is. :)

Someone here did mention a valid point to OEM tires....it was our boy with
the twin turbo Boxer....remember him? Was his name Adam B?

Anyways, I think he mentioned that it allowed the driver to access the
limits more easily. Which is an interesting philosophical issue because the
boundary between typical driver and car has been growing and growing.

Sounds interesting but I think I would "modify" myself before I became
obsessed with that. If Felipe can manhandle the F2009, Fellippe should be
able at some point to manhandle a modified 308, no?

:)
