Actually, I think the option was for 14x7.5 which I had on my  GT4 with
modern XWXs and the car was the best to drive of any 308 I'd driven, apart
from ones with.....XWXs!

The XWX's were radials and Michelin is making them with upgraded  
construction and materials just keeping the same molds. Actually a new  
set handles well. My pal with the 512 BB has them. They actually allow  
you to throttle steer the car something that is harder with the newer  
rubber which tend to break loose without much warning.
FWIW the GT4 had an option for QV wheels in the 79 parts manual, I am  
not sure at what time they became available before that. I was not  
marked off for them at a FCA concours after showing the parts manual.  
The FCA rule specifically state aftermarket parts are not acceptable  
but factory options are.
