1981 308 GTSi: I have a broken seat rack. The part that goes into the slots is missing a bit, as if it was cut. So the seat doesn't hold in place anymore. When I noticed that last year, I turned the seat over and saw that even the spring had been forced. It was "enlarged" at one end. I know a mechanic forced it. Don't forget that you pull up to send the part in the required slot and push down to free it. Or is it vice-versa ? Opposite of most cars, strangely enough. I guess the guy just forced it going the opposite way. It held in one slot for one year, but last week it broke for good. It's stored for the winter now. Anyway, I know the 2 seats can't be switched, but my question is: Can I switch the rack from the passenger seat to the driver's seat ? This way, I could fix the broken one in one slot permanently on the passenger side. If not,do they sell new ones ? I've never seen one for sale on Ebay or anywhere else.
