It's pretty ironic since GM transmissions are typically robust and with access to lots of parts and places to rebuild/service them...but apparently there's something different about the auto in the 456 than the standard GM auto tranny (was the 400/412 like this too?). I believe this to be true but would welcome knowledge refuting this hearsay. A shame since I was hoping someone would take the 456 GTA and do some torque converter and other tranny mods to get a feature article in Car Craft..:) FG
