Hi Doug,
By now you've seen the answers to your question about selling vanity plates. A couple of comments: doesn't it seem bizarre that people will pay approx $600,000 for a license plate? Also, you wrote <<great looking vintage E-Type Jaguars with a big tag screwed to top of their bonnet nose>> Gotta disagree with that - while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this beholder thinks it spoils the great lines of a E type. I like the rear plates but the front plates on any car spoil the looks IMHO.

I do like the oval plates used in some European countries - but only on the rear. I'd like to see front plate requirements dropped - I wonder how many times the front plate is actually used to identify a car/driver? Of course, cameras might like them. '-(

Now, maybe I'll go down to the DMV and browse the open letters available - and see if they'll take a few thousand USD for a "good one". I always like to find ways I can give my government even *more* of my money so they can continue to take care of me. They've done such a great job so far. Of course, in the US there's lots of individual ideas about what a good vanity plate would say. Some might like "crak ho" but I wouldn't. It seems the DMV has a lot of control to prevent potentially "offensive" words from us. (PC at work??) Hopefully the ACLU never discovers it!
;-)

Take care -

Plate for sale - - - ?
Hmmmm - Having lived all my all my life in Kalifornia, US of A, I gotta
question -- especially after seeing great looking vintage E-Type Jaguars
with a big tag screwed to top of their bonnet nose. Then later on, in
Heathrow, I pick up a auto newspaper and lo and behold there are pages and
pages of plates for sale. So the question - wazzup with plates for sale?
Oh, I can see something that might spell FERRARI but how come there are so
many routine looking plates for sale?
Hep me out -
Thanks
DOUG

Hello, I am in the UK and have a Ferrari specific plate for sale at a very
affordable price. Would there be a way of advertising this to your UK
based List subscribers?
I would like advise please so that I can follow procedures and protocol
here rather than blurting out some advert in the wrong place etc.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
