Me, I drive a Jeep Wrangler w/ studded snows. I had a place in Park City back in the 80s. Got by with a Nissan Pathfinder AWD with similar tires. This is my first winter in Tennessee (just spittin' distance form the Kentucky line) I am told the snow doesn't last long here but it does snow. Also there are ice storms...as of December my beloved 2003 5 series MSport hot rod is safely garaged with a battery tender. My 2wd BMW would be pure crap in the deep stuff, even with snow tires. Ditto any 2wd Benz. Sooo last month Brian Buxton was kind enough to pick me up a 2003 F150 AWD at auction. It has North Korean winter tires on it (Pyong Yang Glorious Leader 265/70-17s) which I have left on because the tread is still plenty deep. Just put on fresh rotors, fixed a driveline clunk, changed all fluids and I'm ready for Santa! Picture at end of this article for anyone interested. Posting pix here on the list remains hit and miss. http://www.lifeitsownself.com/?p=15510 the kenverine
