Never, EVER leave a transaction without a Legal bill of sale - this should be a
no-brainer.  The document can be written on a napkin, but it should be complete
and thorough about the transaction.  I've had to present bills-of-sale
documentation to my local DMV for a title issuance - why would anyone just drop
a check off, and walk away without any documentation indicating a legal
transaction has occurred?  I've had a pretty-shady North Philly Seller
walk-away from a Ferrari purchase I made on the internet - but I had a valid
bill-of-sale in my hands, so my un-cashed check was returned to me that week.
I would rather have had the car, but sometimes people just walk-away after
hands have been shaken.  Hence, the 'wire-transfer' ploy still gives the fickle
an 'out', and isn't as powerful as cash-in-hand when negotiating....

I'd be sure to write in the memo section of the cheque, payment in full for
Ferrari 430, along with the VIN if I could.  Even so, I'm probably still not
brave enough to leave a $140,000 cheque on someones desk. Then again, guys
like me always end up paying too much. lol
