Ice AX is an "unofficial" windy city event. No helmets needed. You can fit as
many people in your car as you have seat belts. If you have a convertible, you
have to run with top down... just kidding. If you don't want to get soaked,
leave it up! I have a great video of me running in a Z3 with the top down.
Everyone questioned the owner repeatedly was he sure he wanted me to drive.
His famous last words... "I've driven hard all day. What's Rodney going to do
that I haven't already?" One roll of paper towels, a blank check offered for
any electrical repairs if necessary and everyone laughing at us, years later
they still poke fun at him for letting me drive...

Mike, if you're gonna get passed, not a bad crowd to be lapped by. Awesome.
When are you going back to China?

Hmm

Might be interested for that lemons thing, if I am not in China again
:) As for the Vette Museum parades... Yeah the Green and Blue guys
pretty much are squirt down the straights and slow everywhere else...
Now in the Instructors group last year, I got passed by Andy Pilgrim and
Randy Pobst probably a few times, but they were in ZR1's otherwise I
woulda had em.... surely. Not to mention the guy with a replica GT1
C6.R (less the restrictor plate), putting in lap times right at the ALMS
qualifying ones. And some of the other guys could drive really well
also. I was pretty happily surprised... But yeah unless you ran in the
advanced group on street tires or the instructors group it was pretty
slow, but at Road America, very few parades formed up...

The ice AX though, Have to check that date... Wonder if they would let
me run with my son strapped into the back seat? Probably need a helmet
for him too... Is this Windy City or Badger?
