Sorry if this is beating a dead horse ;-) but I find this really 

interesting.

Previously it was said <<a "completed auction" search on eBay for 2007- 430s 

and out of the 38 cars

that popped up for the last two weeks, ZERO had sold>> & <<buyers are 

saying "the Market is X" and the sellers are doggedly saying "the Market 

is X + N".  Ergo no sales>>

Exactly!

So doesn't that also say now is exactly *not* the right time to buy a 

F360/F430?  As Clyde and others said, when the 458 hits the F360 & F430 will 

sink like the Titanic - IMO *that* is the time to be buying.  Well, maybe 

after a few months once the sinking has slowed significantly.

Not that the F360/F430 will ever become Chevettes but $130K - $140K is maybe 

$20K-$40K too high.  I would think you would want to wait until the 458s are 

here, right?  Although passion and/or lust also plays a part.

It looks like someone is going to take some serious hits - don't want it to 

be you.

I can't imagine EVERYONE on Ebay is a low-balling SOB ;)

The Market could be X + (N/10) but it is not X + N

Sounds to me like the sellers got into these cars "pre financial meltdown" 

and

now simply don't want to accept the fact that:

1) High production  - ergo High Supply
2) Financial meltdown - ergo Low Demand
3) Time and the 458 - external pressures downward.

simply have forced the 430 (and 360) price curve down dramatically.

Unless a rich "sucker" comes along - and there are fewer of those today 

than

say in summer 2008 - they are going to EAT this loss NOW, or EAT a BIGGER 

LOSS

later.

Kind of reminds me of the places I see w/ F360 spyders listed in the 

$150's.

  I think the truth is what Clyde said. The 458 is such a step up in 

being a

  better car,  the 430 will sink like a rock. Remember in that colour 

scheme

  there is always another. Really you just have to decide how much

  depreciation  you are willing to live with...5k, 10k, or 15k a

  For a  while - initially they had it listed at 179,900.

  They reduced it to  159,900.

  Personally, I think a lot of dealers got into these cars
  in  trade at the "exact wrong moment" and now they are waiting
  for the sucker  to come along.

  Truth be told, I love the car - but I will NOT pay too  much.

  I just want to have a 'correct' but not 'insulting  low-ball'
  offer for the car.
