"So doesn't that also say now is exactly *not* the right time to buy a
F360/F430? As Clyde and others said, when the 458 hits the F360 & F430
will sink like the Titanic - IMO *that* is the time to be buying. Well,
maybe after a few months once the sinking has slowed significantly."

Actually there's usually a little bump in prices for the last model (430
here) when the new one comes out. The process being that when the 458
hits, everyone wants the newest kid on the block. Especially for those
that are new to Ferrari, they get told there's a 2-3 year wait for one,
which I think even in this economy there will be just because the people
who always buy the next one still have cash and this model seems to
carry a lot more excitement than the last couple of V8s did.

So the new people get told to wait but have caught the Ferrari bug, so
the dealer tells them they can buy this 430 over here and keep it for a
while until a 458 becomes available, and we might even move you up our
list a little bit since then you'll be an "existing" customer.

So in the long term, Clyde is, as usual, absolutely right, but in the
short term, the 430 prices will be lowest just before the 458 hits when
everyone is waiting for the next best thing, and then maybe a year or so
after 458 hits when the "I gotta have one even last year's model" hype
dies again.
