A dear friend of mine who has a independent Porsche repair business in San Rafael, CA started his business in about 1974 as the PorShop with a cleaver and stylistic PS on the shirts etc.  Then along came the Stuttgart Gang of Five in the mid 80's and rather than re-do the David & Goliath scene, well, maybe more like the ant and King Kong, Vots changed to the ProShop - and that's how it remains to today.

Sorry to hear this!     What about all the car pictures out there that show a horsey or script?

Again, my nonlegal opinion would be if it's an emblem on the vehicle or a banner behind it in the picture, I don't think they would brother anyone about that. If you use any auto manufacturer's name or trade mark in any situation that makes it look like your business is connected with them without their permission that will get their attention. I am also connected with Corvette clubs and they can't use any Chevrolet Corvette symbol in their club logo or literature without Chevrolet's permission. I know it happens, but unless the club comes to their attention Chevrolet probably won't do anything. Like I said, the bad thing is, if they do file suit then it's definitely attorney time. This not legal advice, I am not an attorney. (CMA statement) Randy
